Standout Dance Center has a Covid-19 precaution plan in place. As the 20-21 session approaches, parents of registered dancers will receive information with our entire plan and list safety measures. This is an adaptive plan that will change and update as needed.

Class Descriptions

Mommy/Daddy & Me (12-24 Months)

Let us introduce your little one to the world of dance.  This is a parent assisted class that will focus on creative movement, musicality, coordination, following directions, and most importantly, having fun!  It is a great bonding experience for both baby and parent.

(Class attire - Leotard, dance top, dance shorts, or tutu/skirt)

2 Year Old Combo-Ballet, Tap, Tumbling

This is the perfect introduction class for 2 year olds.  We will focus on basic ballet and tap terminology and technique. We will also utilize apparatuses and props to aid in introducing tumbling, basic stretching, and creative movement. This class will perform 2 recital dances.

(Class attire - Leotard, dance top, dance shorts, or tutu/skirt. Ballet and tap shoes are required. Tights are optional)

3-4 Year Old Combo-Ballet, Tap, Tumbling

We will focus on basic ballet and tap terminology and technique. We will also utilize apparatuses and props to aid in tumbling, basic stretching & creative movement. This class will perform 2 recital dances.

(Class attire - Leotard, dance top, dance shorts, or tutu/skirt. Ballet and tap shoes are required. Tights are optional)

3-4 Year Old Hip Hop

Students will learn different hip hop choreography and styles to age appropriate music.  This is a very fun and upbeat class with constant movement.  This class will perform 1 recital dance. 

(Class attire - Dance wear or comfy clothes the dancer can move easily in and sneakers or tennis shoes.  No outside shoes, please have a pair of sneakers or tennis shoes only worn in dance class. No jeans.)

5-7 Year Old Combo-Ballet, Tap, Jazz

Our B/T/J class focuses on ballet, tap, and jazz terminology, technique, and skills.  Dancers will learn how to correctly stretch to aid in advancing their flexibility, as well as building strength to advance their skill level. Dancers will learn basic turns & leaps. This class will perform 3 recital dances.

(Class attire - Leotard, dance top, dance shorts, or tutu/skirt. Ballet, Tap & Jazz shoes are required. Tights are optional)

5-7 Year Old Hip Hop

Students will learn different hip hop choreography and styles to age appropriate music.  This is a very fun and upbeat class with constant movement.  This class will perform 1 recital dance.

Dancers will learn how to correctly stretch to aid in advancing their flexibility as well as building strength to advance their skill level.  Dancers will learn basic turns and leaps. This class will perform 3 recital dances.

PBT-Progressing Ballet Technique

In our NEW Progressing Ballet Technique class students will learn core strength, balance, focus and muscle recognition with the help of special equipment and movements.  This dance based, conditioning type class is good for all styles of dancers.

Variety

Dancers will learn choreography every week to rotating styles.  These styles will include: jazz, lyrical, contemporary.

Stretch & Condition

Dancers will focus on stretches that will allow for improvements in flexibility.  They will also condition to build stamina to help them during their other dance classes.

Standout Dance Center has a fully stocked selection of dance wear and dance shoes.  We have everything your dancer will need for their classes.

  • Ballet shoes

  • Tap shoes

  • Half-Sole shoes

We do not allow parents in the studio during class due to it being a distraction to the students.  Parents are required to observe their dancer's class from the lobby.  We will have scheduled observation weeks throughout the year for parents who would like to observe their child's class from inside the studio.

Safety

1)  No jewelry allowed in class.  This includes bracelets, necklaces, hoop and dangle earrings.

2)  Gum, food, and drinks are not allowed in the dance room.   

3) Parents of students 5 & under must come to the door of the dance room, or inside, to pick up their child after class.  We will not release them without their parent.

4) Dancers are not allowed in the dance rooms without an instructor who is prepared to start class, unless the instructor has given prior permission for stretching/warming up.
5) Running is not allowed.
6) Each parent is responsible for his or her child at community events and parades.
7) Dance shoes are only to be worn inside the dance rooms.  Please be sure your dancer arrives and leaves in shoes other than their dance shoes.

 

*Standout Dance Center does not supply medical insurance for its students or their families.  Such coverage should be carried by the family's own insurance policy.  If an injury occurs, parents/guardians should understand that your policy is your only source of reimbursement.
